From The Third California Project:

"Everything in front of the camera is worthy of a picture even if it appears trivial.

These snapshots were selected from countless thousands captured over a five year period (1999-2004) of the central interior region of the Golden State's New Frontier – the Third California. This unknown and emerging area of California was defined as 'The Third California' by Brookings Institution fellows Joel Kotkin and William H. Frey in their 2007 research brief – Golden State's New Frontier - The Third California.

As an immigrant to this central region, creating pictures with my point-and-shoot camera was a way to connect with and make sense of this foreign landscape, as well as integrate the formal language of the snapshot aesthetic into my photographic work.

Make pictures that are imperfect and veracious.

Search for enduring subjects in the fleeting, while chasing the poetic qualities of light.
